THE ROLE


As a National Payroll Assistant, you will process payroll in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, union agreements, and Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. You will compile time entries, review combined register and prepare records of employment. You will run and verify pay runs to ensure payroll is balanced according to earnings and deductions and extract pertinent payroll deductions for remittances.

The National Payroll Assistant, will assist and support local human resources and the business on the input and processing of payroll data. You will provide quality control of payroll related input by users. You will perform help desk support for payroll systems and respond to payroll enquiries.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED


Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma

Experience

In accounting and payroll

In time entry and payroll adjustments using payroll systems

In data entry, data manipulation, record-keeping and retrieval techniques

In office administration

In maintaining filing systems

In using software for payroll processing

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

OTHER INFORMATION

  • This position has an assigned location and may allow flexible work options such as remote or hybrid work but the employee must be able to report to the assigned work location at their own cost if required. Remote work may be required depending on health and safety considerations.

SALARY

$19.95 - $27.44 CAD Per Hour
